ANTI-FINGERPRINT NANOCOATINGS MARKET

Keeping surfaces free of contamination from fingerprints and dirt, as well as making them easier to clean, is an active field of research and technology development. Recent advances in nanotech has led to unique stay-clean and easy-to-clean surface properties.

Transparent anti-fingerprint nanocoatings find application on stainless steel surfaces, plastics and glass across a range of markets. They are particularly suitable for decorative surfaces in car interiors, households and buildings and on glass touch panels. Main applications are automotive interiors, kitchen appliances, optical lenses, and electronic displays.

NANOCOATINGS IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

Claeys Aaron from Nanex Company provides an insight into the latest development in stay clean coatings in the automotive industry. Nanex has been working with the automotive industry for a number of years, developing products for a wide range of customers on request. Due to contact with leading distribution channels and general end-users we conclude that for the most part worldwide use of solvent based detergent and waxes for cleaning & maintenance of vehicles are still the most widely used products in vehicle cleaning activities. However, people are becoming more and more aware of their own ecological footprint and national departments and associations that are more and more involved in environmental causes and are beginning to require better solutions than what is currently being used.

NANOPARTICLE INKS FOR PRINTED ELECTRONICS

There is significant growth potential for printable electronics in the next two decades and nanostructured materials are playing an increasingly important role. There is significant growth potential for printable electronics in the next two decades and nanostructured materials are playing an increasingly important role. Inks containing dispersions of semiconducting nanoparticles can form nanocomposite materials with unique electronic properties when cured. Electronic devices can be fabricated on paper, plastic and textiles using electrically functional nanomaterial inks in combination with standard printing processes such as screen printing, offset lithography and ink-jet printing.
